Last Sunday at the beach

Last Sunday at the beach

One of my favorite things to do this
last 6 months is go to the beach. This
is my last Sunday at the beach. The
water was warmer and calmer but for
some reason had lots of weeds in it
today. We had a fun day at the beach
with our many friends.

Sophie & Annette

Sophie & Annette

If you recall a few weeks ago I
assisted on a C-section with Dr. Israel
for the delivery of twin girls. On
rounds at the hospital a few days
later, Sophie and I asked the mother
what she had named her twin girls. She
said she had not decided. So I
suggested she name them Sophie and
Annette (kiddingly). Well, I would
like you to meet Sophie and Annette!

English classes. We all were
approached quickly on arrival if we
would teach English. I have been
teaching the Cuban doctors since the
Christmas Holiday.

Twin Girls in the World

Twin Girls in the World

This is how we are reducing the
maternal/newborn mortality rate. We
identify the high risk mothers, have
them live at the Center of Hope until
it's time for them to deliver and then
send them to Dr. Israel (Cuban OB/Gyn)
for delivery. Here we are finishing a
C-section. He delivered two healthy
little girls. Mother and babies are
doing well!

Natural Family Planning

Natural Family Planning

Here Margareth and I are visiting women
in their homes discussing the natural
family planning. Currently HHF is
developing a program to teach others in
Haiti our design on Natural Family
Planning.

Happy Day

Today we are celebrating the
improvement of our little twin girl.
Her Hgb is 9.4 after receiving 50 cc of
blood. Today she had a shot of
Penicillin as her mother is positive
for syphilis. She is eating well and
much more alert. She smiled at Sister
Anna today which is a very good sign!
